A Fresh Look for Royal Mid-Surrey Golf Store

SDI was asked to look at creating a more inspirational and engaging retail environment at Royal Mid-Surrey Golf Store.

Their current style was what you might expect from a typical golf store, with golfing brands using their own POS to highlight certain areas. Therefore, the store faced a clash of colours and different styles across apparel and hardware.

We created a clean line look for the store, which brightened up the whole place and made much better use of the full store space. This allowed branding to be clearly segmented and signposted, with the Royal Mid-Surrey brand and lifestyle images at the heart of the design.

The new space allowed for much better stock holding for each of the brands, allowing to get much more stock out on the retail floor, rather than being locked away in the store cupboards. It also made the store easier to navigate for the customer, with clearly defined areas for men and women and a stand-out feature for the club, which made a feature piece for the store.

The counter was placed in a far better position in the centre of the store, allowing staff to have full view of the premises when serving. With lower level gondola units, this helped the staff keep watch for any shoplifters.

SDI designed, developed and manufactured all the new store equipment, along with managing the full store refit, and the end result was a brand new fresh and exciting store for both Royal Mid-Surrey members and the corporate event visitors they welcome every day.

Sales for the store are up 20% on 2017 sales, so the investment has been a huge success for the club.
