SDI’s Protective Checkout Screens Installed Nationwide

SDI has produced over 2,000 protective checkout screens for Tesco and are in the process of creating more for Boots, allowing key workers and customers to remain safe throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.

As demand began to increase for protective equipment, we swiftly shifted our operations to best support our retail customers. As soon as the pandemic hit, our design team got to work developing prototypes for protective screens in a variety of situations, from supermarket checkout screens and self-service checkout dividers to bespoke pharmacy screens.

Made from 3mm PETG, these protective screens have already been installed across the UK:

2,000 checkout screens have been installed in Tesco stores
2,600 protective pharmacy screens have been installed in Boots pharmacies
8,000 protective checkout screens and self-service dividers have been installed in M&S stores

All of our hygiene products have been designed in a way that allows store staff to install them, removing any unnecessary contact. In the case of M&S, all PPE has been delivered in tandem with the Gist food network in accordance with their Plan A guidelines.

As well as the screens we’ve already produced, we’re also currently making 15,000 screens for Boots checkouts, which will be delivered throughout May.
